Killer sought in death of Freehold Boroughman
A s of the morning of Feb. 13, law enforcement officers were still searching for the person responsible for the death of Travis Keys.
Keys, 44, of Bond Street, Freehold Borough, was the victim of a fatal stabbing on Feb. 10, according to Monmouth County Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Richard Incremona.
According to Incremona, a 911 call was received at 8:50 p.m. Feb. 10 regarding an incident at the Rug Mill Deli, 20 Jackson St., Freehold Borough.
The deli is in the Rug Mill Plaza, a small strip mall across from the Rug Mill Towers apartment complex on Jackson Street. Police officers were dispatched to the scene and found Keys lying outside the deli. Incremona said Keys was pronounced dead at 9:31 p.m. Feb. 10 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, as a result of the stabbing.
He said the incident is under investigation. No other information was released.
The incident is being investigated by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Freehold Borough Police Department Detective Bureau.
